SD-Wan Architect - Biilingual

This position will report to the Engineering department. The Cisco SD-Wan Architect is responsible for leading the design of SD-WAN networks, mainly based on Cisco Viptela and Meraki technologies; also, for the deployment and maintenance of the SD-Wan infrastructure that support all SD-Wan services for external customers. The SD-Wan Architect works actively with other engineers to integrate solutions that may need API integrations, automation or that can be bundled to other services and infrastructures such us MPLS, UCaaS, Zscaler, Security, or Connections to the Cloud.

Essential Functions

• Architects, Design and implements SD-WAN networks mainly based on Cisco Viptela and Meraki technologies.

• Interacts with other Architects (IP, automation, and Security) and Operations to implement infrastructure and necessary designs to evolve the SD-Wan strategy.

• Document technical standards related to the SD-Wan product and solutions.

• Test new SD-Wan features under PoC environments to be deployed over production environment according to defined roadmaps.

• Analyzes trends, news and changes related to the vendor’s roadmap and works closely to the Product definition to evolve the features and capabilities as requested by the business.

• Applies advanced engineering and network principles, theories, concepts, and technologies to solve Cisco SD-Wan complex problems.

• Ensure network infrastructure is working at optimal levels to support the SD-Wan Infrastructure’s availability by assuring version updates plans and execution, infrastructure resource monitoring and upgrade plans and execution, etc.

• Interact with the engineering team to execute change management for infrastructure, upgrades, etc.

• Act as technical lead (SME) in cooperation to the Implementation, presales, products, and

• assurance teams when needed.

• Implement and provide technical demonstrations and use cases of the SD-Wan platforms and solutions.

• Access MPLS backbone routers (Cisco, Juniper) as needed to troubleshoot at various SD-Wan escalated issues.

Education & Experience

• Strong experience with LAN/WAN routing protocols.

• Demonstration of CCNP/CCNP SP (CCIP)/CCIE level (or higher) knowledge (or vendor alternatives) is a must (required or comparable level).

• Rich experience of QOS,MPLS, BGP, L3VPN/L2VPN, IGP, OSPF, OMP SD-WAN, VRRP.

• Strong understanding of networking protocols (HTTP, DNS, NTP, SMTP, STP, NetConf, NMS, etc.)

• Virtual Private Network Expertise - both IPSEC and SSL.

• Next-Generation Firewall, Zone Based Firewall.

• Experience with deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of SD-Wan flows tied to zScaler.

• Experience with deployment, configuration and troubleshooting on SD-Wan Hybrid models and failover scenarios.

• Experience designing and transitioning multiple site migrations on large SD-Wan networks.

• Experience with deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of SD-Wan segmentation.

• Experience with SDN and NFV, programmable networks, Python, Ansible and Rest-API's.

• Knowledge on Cloud Connect.

• Knowledge on virtualization technologies and hypervisors such as Xen, Hyper-V, KVM, or ESX.

• Experience developing and executing MOPS.

• Profound knowledge of network planning and optimization.
